The general view is that some Nigerian Christian youths lack Biblical evaluation of what they do. They do things as they please themselves. This situation prompted the author of this article to think deeply, contemplate unceasingly and ponder heartily on the future consequences of what the present situation entails. The author believes that what the Christian youths do today has a great influence on how their tomorrow is going to be. Having worked with the youths as their chaplain for ten years, the author vividly believes that a large percentage of the Nigerian Christian youths have not understood the Bible well thus leading their syncretic lives as a normal norm. This syncretic lifestyle brings about all sorts of challenges that are difficult to help the youth grow into adults with proper philosophical and psychological understanding of things. This article, therefore, wish to handle the topic, “Biblical evaluation of philosophical and psychological effects of syncretic practices among some Nigerian Christian youths”. Its objectives are: To state the philosophical and psychological effects of syncretic practices on the youths; To clarify reasons why some Nigerian Christian youths practice syncretism; and To find out the Bible evaluation of syncretic practices.
Virgilius Kawama Nnaji Charles Ogudu Andy-Philip Nesta Copyright (c) 2024 Academic Journal of Current Research 2024-05-16 2024-05-16 11 5 1 15 SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERISATION AND DYEING PROPERTIES OF NEW BIFUNCTIONAL DICHLORO-S- TRIAZINYL (DCT) AZO REACTIVE DYES BASED ON 4,4’-DIAMINODIPHENYLSULPHONE. PART: 2: ON NYLON 6 FABRIC https://www.cirdjournal.com/index.php/ajcr/article/view/1281
A series of five new bifunctional azo reactive dyes containing two anionic Dichloro-s- triazinyl (DCT) derived from 4,4’-diaminodiphenylsulphone as a tetrazotised solution were prepared by coupling to 4-nitroanilino cyanurated acids (H-acid, J-acid, Laurent acid, Tobias acid and Gamma acid). The synthesised dyes were applied on nylon 6 fabric under typical exhaustion process and their dyeing properties were evaluated. The structures of the synthesised dyes were characterised and confirmed by melting point, UV-visible spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, 1HNMR, and MS. The percentage exhaustion and percentage fixation of the synthesised dyes on nylon 6 fabric was very good. All the synthesised dyes gave well to excellent properties to washing, light and perspiration respectively.
A.O Oforghor M .K Yakubu E B Olua Copyright (c) 2024 Academic Journal of Current Research 2024-05-18 2024-05-18 11 5 27 39 GOD AND MAMMON: AN EVALUATION OF SOME AFRICAN CHRISTIANS’ CONTEMPORARY TEACHING ON WEALTH IN JUXTAPOSE WITH LUKE 12:15. https://www.cirdjournal.com/index.php/ajcr/article/view/1279
Jesus was not a destitute. He was not as prosperous as some African Christian wealth teachers make him to be. His home situation was modest. His parents did not have the means to avoid his being born in a stable, and had to lay him in a manger. When his parents went to the temple to dedicate him, all they could give as offering was a pair of doves instead of a lamb as required by the law. His ministry often depended on the resources of other people because he did not have any of his own. He taught from a borrowed boat, rode into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey, ate the Passover meal with his disciples in a borrowed room and was buried in a borrowed tomb. Jesus did not preach or teach a prosperity gospel. In fact, he warned his disciples to “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions” (Luke 12:15). The problem under study is Covetousness in African Church and society and the variant teaching on wealth acquisition by some African Christian teachers in the context of hermeneutical blunders. As its key objective, the study brings to light Biblical principles of wealth acquisition as taught by Jesus Christ juxtaposed with the views of experts on the subject matter through a hermeneutical approach, thereby denouncing inimical variant teachings. Results obtained for the study revealed that this variant teaching namely prosperity gospel has propelled a new attitude of Christians to wealth and its acquisition. This study therefore gives an operational basis for the adoption of Christian education of wealth acquisition in the context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Andy-Philip Nesta Virgilius Kawama Copyright (c) 2024 Academic Journal of Current Research 2024-05-16 2024-05-16 11 5 15 26 HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION IN NIGERIA: A CRITICAL EXAMINATION OF THE EXTREMITIES OF THE NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE https://www.cirdjournal.com/index.php/ajcr/article/view/1280
The security of lives and property is the primary purpose of government anywhere in the world.
